Valley Junction 397 is an Indian restaurant situated in an old railway carriage in Jesmond. It won the Curry Club of Great Britain’s award of "The most original Indian Restaurant in Great Britain". The carriage was originally built as a saloon for wealthy families to hire for journeys. Valley Junction is the sister restaurant of two others in the North East, one in Corbridge, the other in Hexham. The menu offers a range of meals from spicy curries to chicken tikka and tandoori trout. There is plenty on offer for the meat eater as well as the vegetarian. There is also a seven course surprise dinner available. The light atmosphere and friendly staff make Valley Junction 397 a pleasant place to dine. It welcomes families and the casual diner.
