Jesmond Dene is home to a number of attractions and walks. The Dene was laid out by Sir William George Armstrong, a Baron of Cragside. It was originally built in preparation for his marriage, however is now a rural setting, with woodland and waterfalls. The Dene's attractions include Pets' Corner - a small petting zoo housing farm animals and birds. The Armstrong Craft Fair takes place every Saturday on the Armstrong Bridge, which is now closed to traffic. The Fair normally starts at 10am, and runs until dusk.
