The Northern Print studio, based in Ouseburn, is the centre for contemporary printmaking in the North East.

 

Northern Print moved from their North Shields home to Ouseburn in 2006, to a two-floor, 3,000 square foot building. 

 

Northern Print is the centre for contemporaray printmaking in the North East. They're here for everyone interested in any aspect of printmaking.

This is what Northern Print does:

• Provide first-class printmaking facilties to meet the needs of studio users;
• Place the very best artists at the centre of their programme and promote printmaking to the widest possible audience;
• Promote and sell prints;
• Contribute to ongoing research and development of printmaking together with printmakers from around the world;
• Act as a focus and catalyst for all those involved in the advocacy of printmaking, including schools, colleges, curators, artists groups and collectors.

• Make use of printmaking facilities;
• View the work of artists who use Northern Print;
• Buy original prints by artists from all over the world.

Northern Print aims to make printmaking accessible to everyone through a programme of classes and courses.

 

They offer professional training in all aspects of printmaking as well as introductory courses for beginners. There is also a Schools and Groups Education Programme and frequent events are held for children and families.
