The Bakery Art Gallery opened in May 2007, and has attracted the cream of artists from North Shields and other local artists, showing a wide range of styles with prices to suit everyone. A working gallery on the coast, The Bakery has been described as a magic box. It sits in a renovated bakery, is most definitely a hidden gem and a hugely welcomed addition to this increasingly artisan area. Art can be viewed while listening to the music of local guitarist, Irish John. There are six studios within the gallery, which are each available for hire. In addition, Studio Seven is Breadbox Recording, which will bring a new state of the art recording studio to the area with the Red Straw record label. The Bakery Art Gallery fills a much needed void, a platform of creativity for all art forms and those wishing to enjoy the experience of original art will find a dynamic and changing display.
